Lea 2nd January 2017

I wish to express my sincere condolences to Steve's family. I just happened to look at the Washington Post obituaries today and saw, with sadness, that he had passed. I took over the role of editor at SPAN Magazine in New Delhi from Steve in 1997, when he proceeded to a much-deserved retirement. He was such a lovely man, and the world will miss his joie de vivre. He kindly showed me the ropes before he left SPAN and he stayed in India, so we were able to be in touch -- he would occasionally organize a wine tasting, no small feat in India then! He was highly respected by the magazine staff, and I was personally very fond of him. Although it has been many years since we last met, I have often thought about him and wondered how and where he was. I am sorry to know that he is gone. May he rest in peace. Deepest sympathy from Lea Terhune.
